Ian and Irene have been in
hospitality in The Gap for twenty three years their expertise and
personal touch giving them the edge.
Irene was born into a hotel
family and knew from a very early age the ever-changing challenges
the world of hospitality can bring. A lifetime of knowledge reflects
in her people skills and ability to sense guest needs and provide
their dream.
Her designs have produced
unique surrounds for guests to enjoy Marwood in the Grampians.
The strength in the six stone villas reflects the majesty of the
towering rock escarpments, the mountainous background, surrounded by
centuries of giant gums. Eight acres of native grasses, two dams and
direct access to the forest makes Marwood a preference for native
species to call in to graze, drink or build homes.
Indoors the top end comfort,
spaciousness and innovative ideas create an unprecedented
environment to pamper and calm. Privacy was a main concern and the
villas being situated almost twenty metres apart each separated by
native flowering shrubs achieve just that.
Whilst Ian ‘s strengths are his
planning and accountancy skills and his mastery in the kitchen,
together Ian and Irene make a complimentary team.
Starting his working life as
purser on the Orient line, numerous world trips gave him an insight
into standards that the travelling public required and served him
well in the planning of Marwood fifteen years ago.
The decision to aim for a five
star complex, a first in regional Victoria, was seen locally as
outrageously over the top. Over years Ian developed his evening meal
into a memorable event from a possible 7 to 12 courses named “A
Feast of Flavours.” Sourcing seasonal local produce the menu is a
changing, inspired kaleidoscope.
Truly a magical night to
remember!!!
A totally dedicated couple
their professional approach is second to none.
Marwood is not a tree change
for them or a passing phase and welcomes people who seek a first
class experience with a difference.
